Dog trainer in Tetbury and the Cotswolds
I'm Ashley White, though most people call me Chalkie and I'm a dog trainer based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire as well as Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset. I help owners across the Cotswolds and Mendips with loose lead walking, recall, reactive dogs, puppy training and gundog training. Most of my work is 1-1, at your home or somewhere local to you. I run regular group classes including the famous Sunday School, mini courses such as recall or heel work and a Gundog foundations course at Lechlade K9 Centre.
What I want for every dog I work with is the same thing I want from my own: a calm, neutral, balanced dog. One that settles at home, walks beside you without a fight and can lie under the table in a pub while everyone else is eating.
What I can help with
Loose lead walking. This is the one I get asked about most and I pride myself on getting dogs walking on a loose lead in the first session. A loose lead 1-1 is around an hour, usually in a local park and costs £100. Book a loose lead 1-1
Behaviour problems and reactive dogs. Barking at visitors, lunging at other dogs, jumping up, no rest in the house. I start with two home visits of 1.5 to 2 hours each, so I can see what's actually going on in your house and on your walk. That's £250 for both. Book a behaviour assessment
Puppy training. My puppy raising course is 8 home visits, usually two weeks apart, for puppies starting between 8 and 16 weeks old. We cover everything from toilet training to the first walk, socialisation and being left alone. It's £595. Book the puppy raising course
Recall. There's a lot of wildlife in the Cotswolds and plenty of reactive dogs about, so a dog that comes back first time is a safe dog. 4 group sessions to perfect that whistle recall, £100 per course. Book onto the next recall course
Gundog training. This is the bit I love the most. My own Labradors work through the shooting season, and I train gundogs from first retrieves to working tests. I also offer 1-1 sessions and a 10 week foundations course at a Lechlade K9 Centre Gundog training
Sunday School. My group class, for dogs that have already done an assessment with me. It's £25 a session. We work on heelwork, sit stays and recall around other dogs, we set up real-world distractions like a pretend pub and play around with some obstacles and trust exercises. Book Sunday School

Where I train
I'm in Tetbury and I cover the Cotswolds and the rest of Gloucestershire, including Cirencester, Stroud, Dursley, Malmesbury, Gloucester and Cheltenham, as well as Weston-super-Mare, Bristol and North Somerset. Group walks happen around Tetbury and Westonbirt.
